What is SCADA?

The control layer that runs the plant — and a rich source of operating data.

SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is the system that monitors and controls a process in real time — reading PLCs and instruments, driving alarms and setpoints. It tells you what the process is doing; it doesn't track maintenance history or asset health over time.

Maintenance platforms pull operating data — run hours, loads, trips — from SCADA/PLC layers so condition and usage can feed maintenance decisions without re-instrumenting the plant.
