What is remaining useful life (RUL)?
An estimate of how much life an asset has left before failure.
RUL is the predicted time or usage remaining before an asset reaches a failure state — estimated from condition trends, degradation models and operating context.
RUL turns 'something is wrong' into 'you have six weeks' — enough to order the part, schedule the crew and pick a maintenance window instead of stopping production.
