What is a purchase order (PO)?

The commercial commitment to a supplier — what was asked becomes what was bought.

A purchase order is the formal order sent to a supplier: items, quantities, prices, terms and delivery. It's the legal backbone of buying — invoices match against it, and goods are received against it.

In a connected flow, an approved requisition becomes a PO without re-keying, the receipt closes it, and the cost lands on the work order and asset history automatically.
