What is kitting?
Staging every part for a job before the technician walks out.
Kitting is assembling all parts, consumables and tools for a work order into a staged kit before the job is scheduled — so the technician collects once and works, instead of queueing at the storeroom mid-job.
Kitting is the inventory side of wrench time: a job that arrives kitted and planned runs hours shorter. It also surfaces missing parts while there's still time to order them.
