What is ISO 10816?
The standard severity zones for machine vibration.
ISO 10816 is the international standard for evaluating machine vibration severity. It sorts machines into classes and defines zones — A (new condition), B (acceptable), C (alarm), D (danger) — so 'how bad is this vibration?' has an objective answer.
Monitoring systems map readings onto the zones for the machine's class, giving consistent alarm thresholds across the plant instead of per-machine guesswork.
