Roles, permissions and groups
What each role can do, and how groups make bulk assignment and scheduling easier.
Roles set what a person can see and change; groups bundle people for assignment and coverage. Most workspaces run a handful of roles — administrators, planners, technicians and viewers.
- Typical roles
- Administrator — full control: people, settings, everything.
- Planner — schedules and approves work, manages the backlog.
- Technician — executes work orders, logs time and parts.
- Viewer — sees dashboards and records without changing them.
Groups (a shift, a crew, a trade) let work be assigned to a team rather than a person — whoever is free picks it up, and coverage follows the roster.
